A major boost has arrived for the hardworking women of Iron Gate Market, as Rep. Bernard Blue Benson awarded a $100,000 (Liberian dollars) grant to support their businesses under the District 17 Women Empowerment Initiative.

The grant aims to strengthen local trade by providing financial support to women vendors, many of whom form the backbone of the town’s informal economy.

The grant is one of several rolling out across the district as part of Rep. Benson’s broader commitment to empowering women and strengthening community economies.
